Mike and Judy moved to the Charleston area in September '05 after spending over 30 years in San Diego (1972-2002) and then 3 years in Richmond, VA. Judy is a retired teacher (math and music) and Mike works in statistics and data analysis. She is currently pursuing an education in art, an old dream of hers. He currently is starting up a consulting business (MIKS & Assoc). He works with banks and financial institutions in the area of credit scoring.
Judy was born and raised in the Charleston area (Moncks Corner) and is enjoying being back "home" close to her family and relatives.
Mike has wanted a small sports car since he attended a road race rally in the Ozarks (were he grew up) and the Miata has satisfied that dream.
Mike and Judy met at the University of Arkansas where they were attending graduate school in Mathematics. They share a love of music, having sung professionally with the San Diego Opera Chorus for over 10 years
They have two children, Edward (Ed) and Helen (Ellie). Ed is following in pursuing a musical career, currently singing tenor with the Minneapolis Opera as a young artist. He is spending this summer at Sante Fe, NM in their apprentice program. Ellie is back in San Diego after spending two years in Japan teaching English in elementary schools near Nagoya.
Mike and Judy are in the process of building a new home in the south of Dorchester county (near the intersection of Dorchester and Ladson Roads).
